Engraving on an aluminum pot

Intermediary Object

The work is an aluminum pot with the artist's mother's wedding photo engraved on the bottom with a wire brush.

One of the characteristics of human beings is their dependence on objects. Most human activities are mediated by tools. Interaction in general involves not only the whole body but also the human perception of objects and various levels of connection with them. In that sense, humans are never alone. Household objects play an important role for themselves and society. On the one hand, the selective display of household objects establishes and reinforces personal identity. On the other hand, the living room, outside the house, is part of the "main stage" of social interaction, where messages about oneself are presented to the public. The dishwashing area belongs to the "backstage of a stage" area.
